He started to work in the water industry in 1985, beginning his work as a Project Engineer, later working as Project Manager and, after a period of eleven years as Regional Director of Andalusia, as Technical Director in the Water business unit at ACCIONA since 2002. In 2014 he became Technical and Technological Innovation Director, being responsible for the Engineering Department, the R+D+i Department with its technology centre, and the Knowledge Management Department of the Water business within the Acciona Group until 2023. Currently, as Master Technical Leader, he is carrying out technical advice tasks in the company. He combines the activities in the company with those of a professor of the Environmental Engineering Master at the University of Cantabria, teaching the subject "Design of Treatment Plants".

Since 2002, he belongs to the Board of Directors of AEDyR (Spanish Association of Desalination and Reuse)
