PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Higher Technical College of Civil Engineers, Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Belén has over 19 years’ experience in water treatment, participating in bidding, construction and start-up desalination projects worldwide.

Currently, Head of R&D Desalination Department in GS Inima and AEDyR Board Director

She has written several publications, receiving the award for Best Poster Presentation at the 2007 IDA World Congress, Best Presentation of Desalination at AEDYR International Congress in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Project Manager of the project "Energy Recovery from Brine by Forward Osmosis" awarded with the Global Honor Awardee in the 2013 Project Innovation Awards granted by IWA.

She is member too of: IDA (International Desalination Association) , ACADES (Chilean Desalination Association) Technical Committee and Thesis Committees.
